For effective communication focus on the following points, watch how you can suddenly be understood, and get the desired response.

- Be clear about the purpose of the communication. Know your goals so that you can organize your thoughts, body language and tone to support your words.

- Be aware of your audience. Keep your attention on the audience and what you hear, see or feel from them. Effective communication is an exchange that flows back and forth.

- Be flexible. While you are trying to communicate, you might realize that your audience is misinterpreting or misunderstanding your words and ideas. Keep adjusting your communication till you feel that they understand what you are trying to convey.

In addition to the above, effective communication also involves listening to your audience, understanding what they are trying to express and communication. Effective communication can only be reached if you make an effort to talk to your listener rather than talking at them.
